Prototype walkthrough
Self-serve onboarding
The hardest thing I could build on the new system — a first-run flow for a back-end engineer who has never seen Snowplow. Built in Figma, it was also Avalanche's first outing in dark mode — the proven base that later sped up the Signals and MCP work. Click through the real prototype below.
Three decisions carry it
The flow is designed to be handed off mid-stream — the first question is who installs, not what to install, and when someone gets stuck it names exactly who to contact and hands them the steps to send over Slack, because onboarding inside a customer's org is never single-player.
The pipeline's status is ambient, not a wizard step — a persistent No data received yet… bar, because live data only lands at the very end and the flow can't pretend it's done.
And Skip Installation stays visible throughout — trapping someone who can't finish today produces an abandoned account, not a completed one.
A fuller annotated walkthrough is coming — for now, explore the live flow above.
